So last thursday Mama Tran and I after lazing around at home for the whole day, decided to go out for dinner. Mama Tran felt like having noodles and wanted to get shaved ice as well, so I suggested that we go to Wang’s Taiwanese Beef Noodle House.
I don’t even know how long I’ve been eating here, but it is one of my favorite places for Taiwanese beef noodles because it is some what close to home, I can pick up bubble tea on the way home, and it’s relatively easy to find parking.
What do you get when you go to a beef noodle place? BEEF NOODLES of course ;D
They have many variations of the same thing. They have spicy beef noodles, beef noodles with fancy stuff and all that good stuff. I got just the regular beef noodle with thin noodles in small size.
Their sizing is perfect because the small was just enough for me to finish everything plus have room for a lil something something after. What I love most about their beef noodles is that the beef falls apart easily which makes for effortless chewing (… I know I’m lazy…). The broth was really good too, it was not salty at all!
There is one thing that I love most besides bubble tea and waffles is anything deep fried. I LOVE LOVE LOVE anything and everything deep fried. So I just had to get deep fried tofu. I love how the outside is all golden and crispy while the inside is soft.
We also ordered a sliced beef pan cake because as we were walking into the restaurant, I saw someone eating it and it looked really good. I kind of have mixed feelings about this one because I think I would have preferred to have just the pan cake without the sliced beef inside. Maybe it’s just me but the thing just fell apart when I was trying to eat it. The beef was kind of chewy making it difficult to just bite into two. Other than that, it was okay.
I usually order a bubble tea drink when I come and I always get their passion fruit green tea drink (which is really sweet by the way, I recommend getting half sweet), but I decided to get their strawberry milk tea. I was not too happy when I saw that it was ridiculously pink and how fake and artificial it tasted. Normally I would just keep the drink and make a mental note to myself to not order it again next time but Mama Tran told the waitress to take it back.
In the end, we didn’t get shaved ice because apparently they didn’t have it that day.
An interesting and unfortunate event happened when we were there. So Mama Tran and I were happily eating when all of a sudden we hear this woman yelling and chasing someone out the door. At first we thought that maybe perhaps one of the waitresses was chasing a customer who didn’t pay. But it wasn’t until a bit later when we found out that a male customer while exiting the restaurant decided to snatch a lady’s purse!
Anyways, she didn’t catch him. This is just a reminder that we should keep our personal belongings close to our side or leave unnecessary stuff at home.
End verdict: I love this place. Price is really reasonable, food is good, and you can get bubble tea after!
Sorry guise about the delay in post. I’ve been really busy with school (3 month course crammed into 6 weeks anyone?) and work and other random things I’ve been doing.
