{Bbt & Egg waffles} Bubble Queen Cafe

After many unsuccessful attempts of going to Bubble Queen, I finally went on Tuesday!

I’ve heard about their unique drinks such as the Kit Kat bubble tea or other variations of a chocolate bar incorporated into the drink. I really wanted to try the Ferrero Rocher one but I was scared that it would be too sweet and too chocolatey for me.

Anyways, Bubble Queen is located towards the side of Pacific Place Plaza (?). I don’t know that many people who hang out in that area or in that plaza area… since it seems pretty industrial and the stores surrounding seem to be travel agencies, flower shops, insurance offices etc.

As my friend TT and I were Google Mapping our way there, we noticed more and more of Bubble Queen cups lining the street. (Good indication that we’re going the right way)
Anyways, we almost walked right past it because the cafe is relatively small and hidden away off the main road.

First thing I noticed about Bubble Queen was the amount of mangoes and cases of chocolate bars lined up against the walls and window. Chocolate bars of every kind lined up against the wall… kind of reminded me of Costco.

Anyways, we went during school time. So it wasn’t busy and we got a window seat! A big table all to ourselves. But as 3:30 came along, the cafe began to fill up with high schoolers. TT said that Bubble Queen is super busy in the evenings, especially on weekends.

TT ordered my bubble waffle for me. I was expecting an ordinary ‘normal’ bubble waffle but they have 12 different bubble waffle flavors! Such as oreo, strawberry, chocolate, green tea etc. I don’t quite remember what the other flavors are. TT go the oreo waffle and I got the green tea mochi waffle. Waffles are 2 for $5!

Look at the mochi!

My mind was definitely blown on how they go the mochi in there. The waffle was nice and crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The mochi made the waffle extra chewy. I really liked my waffle. Having the mochi in it, made it extra filling. I couldn’t finish my waffle…

Oreo Waffle

TT’s oreo waffle was pretty good! I was expecting it to be super duper sweet but it wasn’t all that bad. I prefer my waffle because I like having that extra chewy-ness of the mochi inside.

Passion fruit bubble with pearls and mango chunks

Anyways there is a huge drink selection, ranging from the typical slushies, green teas to their special chocolate bar flavored drinks.
Again, I was scared that the special chocolate drinks would be too sweet despite TT telling me that they aren’t all that sweet. I played it safe and went with the passion fruit bubble with pearls. It was about $4.50. But after seeing TT’s drink with the mango chunks on top, I immediately wanted mango chunks in mine too. The mango chunks are $2 extra.

I must say that that best part of the drink was the mango chunks. You know what, if there was an option to just order mango chunks, I will order myself a big cup of mango chunks. The mango chunks were unbelievably sweet! I think it’s because the buy in such large quantities and they leave it out to ripen which results in super sweet mangoes. The slushie was ok, it was a bit on the sweeter side. I’m not a big fan of slushies to begin with, but I would have preferred it to be half sweet if that is possible. ( I know… this isn’t Starbucks)

Anyways, I was really happy that I finally finally got to try this place out. It is a bit out of the way to get there but I am definitely going to come back for the waffles. My goal is try all 12 flavors of waffles.
